We Were All Naked

we were all naked
before Love came around
and made us aware
that we had nothing
on our bodies except our
sweat and shame

she came parading herself
in all resplendent glory
while we stood in a corner
agaped, mesmerized
by how she lifted her finger
pointing to one, and he
was completely beside himself
like a ravenous wolf looking
for mate and meat

and then to a girl, meek and coy, she
beckoned, at once the meekness
was shed and she turned into
a marble Greek goddess with no
arms of her own, waiting to be
chiseled by an able hand

one by one she pointed
and each time, one fell
succumbing to her charm,
clutching our breasts, as if
some beastly creature sprung
there to life, gasping for breath
pounding the cavity of our chest

and we began to look at each
other, our eyes misty,
with Lust, and for the first time
realized, that we were indeed
all naked
